"Shut up!" my mother was shouting hysterically at my sister and I. We were quarrelling over who should use the computer! Ever since we were young we could not get along with each other and always quarrelled and fought. We did not know how to treasure one another until one incident that made us love and treasure one another.
It was a Sunday and it was family day. Every Sunday, my parents would take us out to spend some quality time together. That Sunday, my parents decided to take us to the beach. When we arrived at the beach, my sister and I ran to the bicycle kiosk. All of a sudden when I turned back, I saw my sister lying on the ground - her face was as white as a sheet of paper. I was terrified. I quickly helped her up and brought her to my parents. They too were terrified and we quickly helped her to the car and drove to the hospital.
At the hospital, after an hour, my sister was still in the Emergency Ward. My parents were getting very impatient and tried to go into the ward but were stopped by the nurse. I went over to them and told to calm down. I even consoled them that sister would be fine it was also an effort to console myself.
Finally, the doctor came out and told my parents that my sister has been diagnosed to be suffering from cancer. My parents facial expressions changed immediately. My father was stunned and my mother broke down in tears. I was also shocked. "How could this have happened?" I asked myself. The doctor said that the only way that could save my sister was using the treatment of chemotherapy but it only meant a 60% chance that she could be cured. My parents decided to on the treatment without any hesitation.
After the diagnosis, I got closer and closer to my sister. Whatever she wanted I would give it to her. We were very close to one another. I would cry to sleep every night I was really afraid that I would lose her.
As the days past, my sister got weaker and weaker. All her hair started to drop and she did not have any appetite to eat or drink.
One day after school, I came home and saw my parents crying. My sister had passed away. I broke down in tears. I was really sad. I did not know how to live without her. My mother walked towards me and handed me a letter. I opened it and discovered that it was from my sister. She wrote, "To my dearest brother, during my dying days, I really treasure the time I spent with you. Dont be sad, study hard and carry on with your life. I love you. From your sister." My tears started to flow like a river. I cried and cried.
It took me a very long time to forget my sister. I really treasured the memories of my sister. Although I lost my beloved sister, I remember my sisters words my life will go on.
