A Deal  - by Zhuang Yuting

I am a student journalist. There is something which does not concern our school, but I really want to tell the whole school.

Recently, my friend told me that her schoolmate died. He was only 15 years old. Many of his classmates cried for him and when my friend told me about this, she was nearly in tears.

You might think this is none of your business, but in fact, it really concerns you. Life is short. Life is unpredictable. Many of the boy's friends cried for him, but can he hear them? Why did they think of him only after they have lost him? Why do we always take things for granted until it is lost - until we realise that it is too late?

Every day when we come to school, every day when you check the school timetable, you will mutter to yourself "sian". I admit that I am guilty of this too.

Are you scared of dying? If you ask me, my answer is yes. I don't want my friends and families to be sad for me. When people say " life sucks", do they think that death "sucks" too? Look around you now. Look at your schoolmates. Look at your friends. How can life suck when you have so many people who care for you?

Although your mum nags, you know she is concerned about you. Although your teachers scold you, they care for your future. Although you quarrel with your friends, they still help you when you are in trouble.

Think about this. When was the last time you said, " I love you" to your loved ones? When was the last time you helped a friend? When was the last time you made a person's day brighter? Do all this now, before it's too late. I am not trying to curse you but to give you a reminder. You will not know when you will die. You will not know when somebody you love will disappear from this world - will you?

Here's a little advice to all students reading this article: It won't hurt to let your friends and families know that you love them.

To all my friends, I just want to say that I really treasure my friendship with you. If you have any problems, tell me! I promise I will always be there for you when you need my help, and lastly, please remember to contact me even when we leave Peicai Secondary School. Deal?
